Congratulations, Priya! What an exciting day for you. I finished the book a couple of days ago, and was so sad when it ended and I had to leave Ellen's world. I learned so much, and was especially intrigued that Ellen was the one who suggested the Royal Hospital be established. I actually lived there for a few months a couple of years ago (long story) and it's one of my favorite places in London. Best of luck, and get busy on your next book! I can't wait to read it.

Oh my goodness. I've got my dates mixed up! I thought it releases 2/7. Opps! I'm so happy for you Priya. It's an awesome story. Nell, Buckingham, Johnny, Rose...the king! I could just go on and on...It was amazingly funny as well. I had some good laughs reading it!
Congratulations Priya... This particular Bumble Bee finally released and free to roam, to discover, to find its way into the lives of others, to become dog-eared, coffee stained, passed on, loved, and bring back who-knows what who knows when to its creator... best wishes... and here's to the Bloomsbury set, phew......
A week late, but very current congratulations!!!! I was just wondering this very thing, and here it is - marvellous! Is it available in Australia or will I have to order it online? Exciting!!!!
Last week, a friend sent me a text message asking if I had a family member who was an author because someone with the last name Parmar was doing a reading in Maryland not far from where I live/work. I replied no, but succumbed to my curiosity and found this blog. I'm not much of a reader nowadays, and when I do make the time it's usually non-fiction. However, I can only imagine how much work goes into writing a book, so I wanted to offer my warmest congratulations, "cousin"!
I wish you all the very best of luck which you deserve. I am excited about reading Exit The Actress but have not started yet, I always save treats as long as I can. :)
Plum Bean is a catch phrase in my family for going out on a limb and following that inner directive that tells you to do something absolutely contrary to logic, reason, common sense and statistics. Plum Bean has led me to move to a country where I knew no one (twice), talk to strangers, ask a famous playwright if she might like my help (amazingly she did), meet my best friends, jump off a cliff, do a PhD, bring home stray animals and write a novel.
This blog is about my adventures in publishing, writing, reading and generally living a plum bean life.
I am first time historical fiction novelist and my first novel, EXIT THE ACTRESS is about to be published by the wonderful Touchstone, Simon and Schuster.
When I am not editing, writing, or researching, I am either swimming, reading or teaching. I love books and water and can often be found standing waist deep in the ocean, wearing huge, cheapie sunglasses and an enormous sunhat, reading a wet, warped, lived in book.
I believe in: asking for advice, writing in books, getting up early, taking dance classes, reading everything, talking on the phone, reading plaques on buildings, saying what I mean, getting lost in strange cities, eating pineapples, talking to strangers, and taking notes.
I lived for a long time back and forth between Kauai and London but two years ago came home to finish writing my book, EXIT THE ACTRESS. I am now working on my second novel and am getting ready to pack my bags again and return to London for more research!
I hope you enjoy my blog!
That is just amazing! You've got to be so proud!
