I'm going to Italy in a few weeks - I will look for a copy ;). I think I'm going to start collecting cookbooks from the countries we travel to - would look beautiful once I have a few to display and my husband travels so much (small keepsake, not expensive and fun).
Hope you are having a wonderful month (and weekend)
Plum Bean is a catch phrase in my family for going out on a limb and following that inner directive that tells you to do something absolutely contrary to logic, reason, common sense and statistics. Plum Bean has led me to move to a country where I knew no one (twice), talk to strangers, ask a famous playwright if she might like my help (amazingly she did), meet my best friends, jump off a cliff, do a PhD, bring home stray animals and write a novel.
This blog is about my adventures in publishing, writing, reading and generally living a plum bean life.
I am first time historical fiction novelist and my first novel, EXIT THE ACTRESS is about to be published by the wonderful Touchstone, Simon and Schuster.
When I am not editing, writing, or researching, I am either swimming, reading or teaching. I love books and water and can often be found standing waist deep in the ocean, wearing huge, cheapie sunglasses and an enormous sunhat, reading a wet, warped, lived in book.
I believe in: asking for advice, writing in books, getting up early, taking dance classes, reading everything, talking on the phone, reading plaques on buildings, saying what I mean, getting lost in strange cities, eating pineapples, talking to strangers, and taking notes.
I lived for a long time back and forth between Kauai and London but two years ago came home to finish writing my book, EXIT THE ACTRESS. I am now working on my second novel and am getting ready to pack my bags again and return to London for more research!
I hope you enjoy my blog!
The cover is gorgeous!
